У статті досліджено роль та місце опричнини у зміцненні російського самодержавства в період правління Івана IV Грозного. Розкрито основні віхи правління цього діяча, подана характеристика його необмеженої влади. Охарактеризовано причини й мету політичної діяльності Івана IV Грозного та його вплив на розвиток Московського царства. // The article explores the role and place of Oprichnina in the strengthening of Russian autocracy during the reign of Ivan IV the Terrible. It outlines the main landmarks of the figure’s reign, the characteristic of his unlimited power is submitted. The cause and purpose of political activity of Ivan IV the Terrible and his influence on the development of the Moscow kingdom is characterized.
