РЕПРЕСИВНА ПОЛІТИКА СТАЛІНСЬКОГО ТОТАЛІТАРНОГО РЕЖИМУ НА РІВНЕНЩИНІ (1944–1953 РР.) = REPRESSIVE POLICY OF STALIN'S TOTALITARIAN REGIME IN RIVNE REGION (1944-1953)

Abstract

= This qualification work explores the most characteristic features and peculiarities of Stalin's policy in the territory of the Rivne region in 1944-1953 and is based on a detailed analysis of the complex of sources and the literature on the chosen topic. The establishment of Soviet totalitarianism during the «second Sovietization» of Western Ukrainian lands is traced. The forms and methods of communist propaganda, which absorbed all directions in the cultural, political and social space, as well as the influence of Stalin's propaganda on the process of establishing Soviet power in the territory of Western Ukraine and assimilation and formation of a new social thought, which consisted in socialist transformations of the Western Ukrainian population under the demands of Stalinism, are allocated. The stages of formation and mechanism of functioning of the Bolshevik repressive-punitive system were investigated. The features of the communist policy in the Rivne region concerning the selection of leading personnel, collectivization of the Ukrainian village, socio-economic and cultural processes, as well as the evolution of the repressive-punitive system are shown. Forms and methods of struggle of the Soviet power with the Ukrainian national liberation movement in Rivne region are covered. On specific examples of human lives, taking into account the testimonies of victims of political repression, the activity of the repressive-punitive system is analyzed and the scale and consequences of Stalin's policy in the Rivne region are shown. It is substantiated that the Soviet totalitarian regime caused irreparable losses to Western Ukrainian society, and the number of crimes of Stalin's policy is not fully known. That is why it is worth investigating this issue in our time.
